Turkey & Sweet Potato Chipotle Chili (GF&DF)

Turkey & Sweet Potato CHIPOTLE Chili

Gluten & Dairy Free Recipe

(aka: my favorite fall dish!)

What You’ll Need:

  • Ground Turkey (1 lb)

  • Onion (1 cup, diced)

  • Garlic (3 cloves, minced)

  • Sweet Potato (1 medium sweet potato, peeled and cubed)

  • Diced Tomatoes (28 oz.)

  • Chicken Broth (2 cups)

  • Chili Powder (2 tsp)

  • Oregano (1 tsp)

  • Cumin (2 tsp)

  • Turmeric (2 tsp)

  • Ground Chipotle Powder (1/2 tsp)

  • Coconut Oil (1 TBSP)

  • S&P (to taste)

  • Lime

  • Avocado

  • Cilantro

Can be cooked in crock pot or on stove top. This is great meal to cook in bulk for left overs! This dish is a fan favorite and will likely disappear before you intended it to!

-Heat coconut oil on the stove top (make sure you grab a big enough pan/pot to start with, especially if you doubled/tripled the recipe)!

-Once oil has melted, add the ground turkey to brown. Break up the meat, cook for about 5 minutes.

-Add onions and garlic to pot and cook until the onions are translucent and meat is brown. (10 mins)

-From here, you can utilize the crock pot by transferring the meat and onions to the crock pot. Stir well and leave heat on LOW for 6-7 hours. You’ll know it’s ready when the sweet potatoes are tender!

-If you are sticking to the stove top option: Turn the burner to HIGH and add additional ingredients; tomatoes, sweet potatoes, broth, and seasoning. Cook on Medium for at least 15 minutes before serving. Always better flavor to let it simmer beyond 15 minutes.

-Season with Salt and Pepper to taste!

-Add toppings; Lime wedge, cilantro, and avocado slices!
